Joseph Kinnah Gray, son of James and Isabelle Gray was born near Monica, Ill., Jan. 24, 1859 and departed this life Jan. 30th, 1921, aged 62 years, and 6 days, at Rochester, Minn, where he had gone for consultation.
On June 18, 1878, he was married to Miss Catherine Jane White at Peoria, Ills. To this union were born ten children, two of whom died in infancy and the wife, better know as “Jennie” died Nov. 26th, 1903.
In December 1904, he with his family, moved to Nebraska and settled near Elyria. January 10th, 1906 he was married to Mill Allia Irene Durkee at Benedick, Nebraska. To this union, a daughter, Neva Jame, was born. She died July 1917. He leaves to mourn his death, his loving wife and eight children, namely; Mrs. Edith Lambertson, Roy Gray, Mrs. Emma Culbertson, William Gray, and Ray Gray all of Akron, Colorado; David Gray of Toulon, Ill., Mrs. Della Bredthauer of Sciota, Neb., and Mrs. Florence Wheeler of Burnwell, Neb.
He also leaves three brothers, Jas. of Chillicothe, Ill., and David and John of Princeville, two sisters, Mrs. Isabelle Burgess and Mrs. Ella Miller of Monica, Ill., also twenty grandchildren and many other relatives and a host of friends.
The living children were all here except Edith and Florence, detained on account of sickness.
The funeral services in charge of Rev. L.P. Bear, were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist church and interment was in Princeville Cemetery.
