PRINCEVILLE -- Maude E. Sloan, 97, of Princeville died at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at Heartland Health Care Center in Henry. Born Feb. 21, 1899, in rural Speer to David and Sarah Speers Shane, she married Leland J. Sloan on May 6, 1922, in Peoria. He died July 3, 1979, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one son, David Sloan. Surviving are two sons, Donald B. and Wesley J., both of Princeville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Union Grove Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, which is now the Wyoming Order of Eastern Star Chapter 8. She also was a member of the Peoria County Home Extension.

She was a member of Princeville United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home in Princeville, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Harry Losey will officiate. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Princeville United Methodist Church.
