Bennie Earl “Scooter” Vance, Jr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 15, 1956 at Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Juanita McKinney Vance and the late Bennie Vance, Sr. He was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Scooter’s passion was boxing. He was President and Coach of Elite Boxing Club in Sheridan, where he spent countless hours working with young people, teaching them just as many life lessons, as he did boxing lessons. He loved his family more than anything, and his dog “Bella”, ran a close second.

Mr. Vance died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 64.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Diane Lovelace Vance; daughters, Candie Yonker and Christin Wallace and husband Ronnie Wallace, Jr.; mother, Juanita Vance; brother, Ronnie Vance; son-in-law, Armin Yonker; all of Sheridan; sister, Brenda Coursey of Malvern; grandchildren, Brandon Yonker, Cole Yonker, Hayden Wallace, Bentley Wallace; He is also survived by a host of other family members, and many, many, friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 11, 2021, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
