Reese Elizabeth Hamsmith, treasured daughter of Chris and Trista Hamsmith and Blake's beloved sister, has gone to her forever home. Reese gave us a lifetime of sassiness, laughter, and love during her 18 months of life. A service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Trinity Church. We will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, today, December 22, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. In support of the health of everyone attending, face coverings are mandatory, and the staff will enforce social distancing in compliance with state regulations. These precautions are to ensure that the family, staff, and our community are safe. The service will be live-streamed here on this page, where you are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy.

On June 13, 2019, Reese was born in Lubbock, Texas. Reese adored her doting big sister Blake as well as giving big hugs to her dogs. Her presence was known when she entered the room as she demanded applause from all. Her memory will live on in our lives and many to come. Survivors include her parents, Chris and Trista Hamsmith; sister Blake; maternal grandparents, Mike and D'Nan Mathis; maternal great-grandmothers, Elizabeth Hobgood and Norweeta Mathis; paternal great-grandparents, Pat and Don Hamsmith; uncle and aunt, Chad and Laura Mathis; cousins, Atticus and Evelyn Mathis. She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather David Hamsmith and maternal great-grandfather Bennie Bob Hobgood.

Reese accidentally swallowed a battery in November, she immediately became very sick. She was rushed to hospital where she remained for several weeks before eventually passing away on December 17th.

Rest in peace Reese.
