1945 - 2021- Rush D. Dickerson, Jr. of Lumberton, TX, died Sunday evening, January 10, 2021, in Hospital of Providence, Sierra Campus, El Paso, TX. He was admitted to the Covid Unit there January 5, 2021.

Rush was born in Beaumont, TX, but he grew up in Burkeville, TX. He’s the son of Rush D. “Dock” Dickerson and Pauline “Polly” McCrary Dickerson. Preceded in death by his parents; his sister Helen Veigh Conn of San Antonio, TX; his nephew, Timothy Ray Conn of Nacogdoches, TX; and a granddaughter, Marissa Jane Anderson of Cypress, TX.

Rush attended Lamar University. He worked in the Petro-Chem Construction business and was employed for many years with Triple S Industrial Corp., Lumberton , TX. An adventurous man, Rush loved to travel to new places and to meet new people. His early career was filled with moves to work in new places. He pursued his career from the North Slope of Alaska to the El Paso-Mexico Border, to the U.S. Virgin Islands, and many places in between. He had friends in all those places throughout his life. Very good at his beloved trade, he combined this travel and his work well to create the interesting life he loved so much.

On 24 Sep, 2004, he married his beautiful wife Rosa Linda Aguilera, in Jefferson Co., TX. His perfect match, she fit right into all the travel and adventure. They were always on a trip to somewhere new and exciting to see the country or to see their many beloved friends. They also enjoyed just being together and experiencing new places and things. Rush was a “riding enthusiast”. If it had a motor, he’s driven it. Boats, Motorcycles, Snow Machines, All Terrain, Jet Skies, etc. His special love in his later years was to involve his grandchildren in these adventures. He took them on trips and to places to try their hands at some of his “riding”. He was also a very handy guy and was our "Mr. Fix-it" for our family. He loved his family and his fur babies and was always willing to give a hand or a hand-out to those in need. He will be missed by so many family and friends.

Left to mourn this sudden loss are: his loving wife Rose of the home; daughters, Krisi Melynn Monsivaiz (Gerard) The Woodlands, TX; Juli Delayne Anderson (Jay), Tomball, TX; 1st wife Karla Todd Sherer, Newton, TX; step daughter Lincoln Nicole Pellerin, Nederland, TX; and special niece Amber Bingaman, Pueblo, CO.; 17 grandchildren; a granddaughter-in-law, and a grandson-in-law. Loved so much by his family and friends we take comfort in knowing:

Job 1:21 - The Lord has given and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
