Born in Burke County, NC on October 3, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Robert Tooms Buchanan and Dorothy Virginia Mashburn Buchanan.
Glenda was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was affectionately known as “Mawmaw GinGin.” She enjoyed spending time with the “Golden Girls.”
Glenda is survived by a son, Darin Moody (Michelle); daughter, Kim Sanders; 7 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Tommy Buchanan (Susie); and sisters, Darlean Smith (Jim), Becky Beaver, and Patsy Powell.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Jean Buchanan.
Glenda will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home in Morganton, NC. The graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Dysartsville Baptist Church Cemetery in Nebo, NC.
