Obituary
JoAnn Massengale 1935-2022

JoAnn was born Saturday, April 6, 1935, in Fayetteville, Georgia to Evie Lou and Clarence Adams. She went home to be with Jesus Thursday, October 20, 2022. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her first job was with W.T. Grant on Whitehall Street, Atlanta, in the Notions department selling hats, gloves, and ribbons. She was quickly promoted in six months to manager of the department. This started a life-long love of antique lace, linens, and baby gowns that she sold at an antique market for many years. She was a wonderful homemaker, famous for her homemade biscuits, and an overall great cook. She loved everyone. She could always see the best in others. She loved Jesus. His spirit shined through her. She attended Lisbon Baptist Church for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wilbur; her brothers, Dan Adams, Jerry Adams, Billy Adams, and Jack Adams. Her sisters; Peggy Allison, Hazel Garrett and Jane Malone. And her grandson, Benjamin Skinner.

She is survived by her brother, Bobby Adams (Glenda); daughters, Gwen Skinner and Rhonda Crumbley (Gerry); grandson, Terry "Bo" Skinner (Miriam); greatgrandchildren, Cameron Skinner, Taylor Skinner (Emily), and Jazmyn Jackson. She will be greatly missed.

As she requested, there will be a small private graveside service Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Lisbon Baptist Church Cemetery.
