She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter (1976); son, Charles; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and brothers, Jake and Ray Granger. Lela married Walter on Dec. 9, 1932, and her ashes will be buried next to him in La Farge, Wis., at Bear Creek Cemetery.
Lela is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Steve) Weiland of La Crosse; sons, Donald (Dorothy) Goldsmith of Charleston, S.C., and James (Lana) Goldsmith of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one very special friend and neighbor, Palma.
