Barney O. Bond

GREENWOOD - Barney O. Bond, 91, died Feb. 25, 1987, at his son's home in Meridian after a brief illness. Services are 11 a.m. today at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood.

He was a native of Attala County and had been a resident of Greenwood for the past 65 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Delta Steam Laundry.

He is survived by his sons, Jack O. Bond of Meridian and Jessie Lewis Bond of Reno, Nev.; sister, Mrs. Hazel Moore of Winona; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

BARNEY WAS LIVING IN ATTALA COUNTY WHEN HE REGISTERED FOR THE WWI DRAFT IN 1917-18. HE WAS ABLE TO WIGGLE HIS EARS AND COULD STAND ON HIS HEAD WHEN HE WAS 60.
