Fred A. Abbe

Fred A. Abbe, 92, died in Townshend, Vt., Sunday. Born in Springfield Oct. 5, 1879, he lived in Springfield and Belchertown most of his life, moving to Williamsville, Vt. 12 years ago. He was educated in Springfield and was a contractor in Springfield, retiring in 1955. He also was in the coal and grain business with his brother under the name of C. E. and F. A. Abbe. He was a member of the Esoteric Lodge of Masons. He leaves his son, Dayton of Milford, Conn., and a sister, Mrs. Daisy Rathbun of East Longmeadow. The funeral will be Wednesday at the Dickinson-Streeter funeral home with the Rev. Nevin M. Kirk, pastor of Emmanuel Church officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
