LANGLEY -- Mr. Edward ``Eddie'' Batchelor, 49, of 139 Tutt St., died Thursday, July 23, 1998, St. Joseph Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hatcher Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Waters officiating. Burial will be in Langley Cemetery.

Mr. Batchelor, a native of Langley, had retired from the Graniteville Co., Townsend Division. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Gloverville. He was a baseball and football coach for the Valley Recreational Association.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Widener Batchelor; two sons, Joey Batchelor, Langley, and Raymond Batchelor, Snelling; one daughter, Melissa Hutto, Warrenville; his parents, Ollie and Thelma Kaney Cain, Augusta; four brothers, John Batchelor, Augusta, Raymond Cain and Bruce Cain, both of Grovetown, and Curtis Cain, Girard, Ga.; three sisters, Charlene Free, Langley, and Theresa Meade and Dale Endres, both of Augusta; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Thompson, Eugene Free, Wesley Thompson, Jeremy Free, Tracy Thompson and Robert Meade.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA, 30904-4726.

Friends may call at the residence of his daughter at 150 Avondale Lane, Pleasant Point, Warrenville.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
