She was born in Polk County, TN, to the late James Stillwell and Maggie Carringer Murray.
Pheabie was a charter member of Charity Independent Baptist Church in Gastonia.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Lesia Melton; brother, Ronnie Stillwell; and sister, Barbara Bowman.
Left to cherish Pheabie's memories are her loving husband, Steve "Don" Meredith; children, Barbara Melton King, Greg Melton, grandchildren she raised were Tosha Haney, Jamie Meredith, Ashley Plemmons (Zach), also survived by grandsons Chris Campbell (her caretaker) Gregory Melton Jr, Great-grandchildren, Tyson and Kayleigh Haney, (Great-granddaughter she raised) Amber Richmond, and great grandsons, Jaxson and Tucker Plemmons, and Great-great granchild Braylen Moss,brothers, Glenn Stillwell (Myra), and Roger Stillwell, sister-in-law Shirley Stillwell.
