TRENTON – Alvin “Lee” Dartt Jr., age 68, resident of Trenton, Nova Scotia.
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lee on March 2, 2015 with his family at his side.
He was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on October 15, 1946 and was the son of the late Alvin Lee and Arabelle (Fitzgerald) Dartt, Sr.
He was a loving son, husband, father and friend. He was passionate about snooker and cars. In his spare time, you would find him in the garage tinkering with his 1940 Ford unless it was snooker day with the boys. Lee enjoyed a 30 year career with the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission.
Lee will be deeply missed by his daughters, sisters, and all of his extended family including cousins and dear friends whom he held so close to his heart.
He is survived by his wife, Judy (Dee); daughters, Wanda (Sheldon Matthews), Kentville; Tracy (Lilla Bennett), Trenton; Amy (John Whidden), New Glasgow; sisters, Marilyn (David Raynard), Trenton; Carla (Owen McCormick), New Glasgow; best friend and companion, Mariena Whidden, Trenton.
He was predeceased by his grandparents: Dan and Bess (Phalen) Fitzgerald, New Glasgow; and Norman and Eunice (Collins) Dartt, Green Oaks.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. There will be no funeral by request.
Family flowers only. A private family graveside service and burial will take place in the Lorne Street Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society, The Kidney Foundation of Canada (Atlantic Canada Branch) or Daffodil House (The Lodge That Gives) Halifax.
