Ella Schuhmann Spacek

June 8, 1908 - January 15, 2006

Ella Schuhmann Spacek, 97, passed away on January 15, 2006 at her home in Dime Box. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dime Box. Burial will be held at the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dime Box.

Ella was born June 8, 1908 in Dime Box to Albert and Emma (Krenek) Schuhmann. She was a school teacher for 33 years. She spent 17 years teaching in Dime Box and the last 11 years at Lexington as a math teacher. She spent several years teaching in the old country schools at Birdsong in Burleson County and Friendship in Lee County.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Albert Spacek, of Dime Box; sisters-in-law Dorothy Schuhmann of Wharton and Lydia Howard of Huntsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 51 years, Joseph S. Spacek, Jr.; sisters Ola Schuhmann and Louise Spacek; brother Dr. J. Dan Schuhmann and her parents.

Ella was a graduate of the University of Texas and a devoted Longhorn Fan. She also took part in many Dime Box civic community activities.
