BERNADINE DOHERTY, 70, of Colorado Springs died Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker.

Memorial services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa St., with the Rev. Theodore Haas officiating. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Doherty was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Trinidad, to Bernie and Sue (Austin) Conner. She had lived in Colorado Springs since 1943. Mrs. Doherty attended the University of Northern Colorado and Lamont School of Music. She was a member of the Colorado Springs Symphony Guild and involved with the March of Dimes, El Paso County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, Pikes Peak Mental Health Board and other community activities. Mrs. Doherty also was involved in numerous activities with Colorado Springs School District 11 when her husband was the district's superintendent.

She was married June 17, 1939, in Denver, to Thomas B. Doherty, who survives.

Mrs. Doherty also is survived by two sons, John of Littleton and Michael of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Kathleen Fullerton of Boston; and three grandchildren.
