Our sweet, precious wife, mother and grandmother, Louise E. Walker, 70, passed away on January 19th 2021. She devoted her life to Jesus, her husband, her children and her grandchildren. She treated each and every person as if they were the most important person in the world. Her love was felt by friends and family across the world and she knew no strangers. Louise was born on June 23, 1950 in Wichita, Kansas to George D. and Flossie (Yoder) Fosnight
While her time on earth seems to of been too short, her time here was well spent. She was a devoted Christian, wonderful wife and mother, raising five wonderful children and was the worlds best grandma to 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Louise was the shelter in the storm and the rock upon which many were anchored. We have been blessed by her example and her active guidance; we are better for just knowing her. Louise was an angel on earth we are fortunate to have been blessed by her presence in our lives.
Louise grew up in Wichita, Kansas, graduated from Wichita West High and worked at Walkers department store to save money for college. She then attended Friends University where she earned a home economics degree and worked in the presidents office as a office assistant during her sophomore year at Friends Univ. She met Robert Walker and married a year later on November 18, 1972. They spent the next 48 years building a beautiful life together.
After living in an apartment on Friend University campus, she and Robert built their forever home on Young Street. He was devoted to raising her five children and stayed at home with them until the youngest was in the middle school. She loved taking her kids on various field trips, baking cupcakes for classroom parties, and writing special notes in packed lunches. She then worked at Intrust Bank, where she met many lifelong friends She retired in 2015 after 23 years, and started her exciting career and enjoying retirement.
In 2010, Louise was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer. She always said that if it was rare or unusual, then it would obviously happen to her, then she would laugh, knowing she was paving the way for new medicine because she knew it was help other people. She spent a lot of time in Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she would make friends, eat great food, and laugh and smile during , even during the roughest of appointments. She was filled with so much joy for the gift of each new day. It radiated off of her in every room, even the elevators.
Louise loved talking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful listener, soothing any burden with understanding and compassion. She was a dedicated host, always making sure that everyone was served and comfortable. She was incredibly funny, often at the center of a contagious giggle fit that engulfed the room. She was determined. She fought extremely hard to stay here with us for as long as she could, and now it is time for her to have a well earned rest.

As some people journey through life, they leave footprints wherever they go—footprints of kindness and love, courage and compassion, humor and inspiration, joy and faith. Even when they are gone, we can still look back and clearly see the trail they left behind—a trail bright with hope that invites us to follow.
