A printer, he retired from Vermont Printing Co. in 1962 after 38 years. He was a member of Elks 1499 in Brattleboro, VT, American Legion Post 0016 in West River Valley, VT, and Catholic Church of the Incarnation.
An Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, he was with the tactical air command and served in the offensive in Normandy, Rhineland and Ardennes.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen B.; a sister, Margaret Lapham of Brunswick, ME; five brothers, Charles, Herbert E. and Arthur R., all of Alburg, VT, Richard L. of Cordova, NC, and Francis Grout of Warren City, CT; and two grandchildren.
Burial will be in Brattleboro, VT.
