Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and took great pride in caring for her family. She was a life-long member of Star Baptist Church, where she enjoyed assisting with the homebound ministry, and worked for many years as a switchboard operator for BellSouth. Barbara will best be remembered for her sweet disposition and generous, prayerful spirit. Barbara truly loved people, and her innate desire to care for others served her well throughout her years of ministry as a pastor’s wife.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Rev. R.C. Rice; parents, Grady and Alma Barlow; and siblings, Wilburn Barlow, Mamie Glass, and John Calvin Barlow.
Survivors include daughters, Sherrie Rice, and Pam Glass and husband Joel; grandchildren, Olivia McKinley, and Christopher Glass; and numerous nieces, nephews, church family, and friends.
