Mike Batten died March 19, 2004, in Vancouver. He was 45.
Batten was born Nov. 12, 1958,to James F. & Mary Jo Dickerson Batten in Vancouver and was raised in Camas. He graduated from Camas High School, served in the Navy for four years, and attended Multnomah Bible College for two years. He began working in construction and became a licensed contractor in 1998. His primary work was leading people to Christ and he was dedicated to helping people. He had been living in Portland for the past two years and attended Praise Chapel in Portland, Ore.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Kolett Batten, in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Kasha, at home; one son, David Batten of Portland; two daughters, Danae Batten and Danielle Gressett, both of Hazel Dell; one stepson, Michael Artinian of Portland; one stepdaughter, Jacquie Blenkowska of Portland; one brother, Steve Batten of Vancouver; one sister, Vicki Collins of Camas; and one granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held today, at 3 p.m., at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will be private at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Straub?s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
