Ralph R. Carver, 73 a resident of 718 W. Bartlett Court for two years and a longtime resident of Dunlap and Gibson City, died at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 27, 1989) at Methodist Medical Center.
Born Oct. 24, 1916, in Dunlap to Waring and Dorothy Trigger Carver, he married Irene Burns Oct 10, 1935, in Hennepin. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Merrit (Phyllis) Smith of Morris and Mrs. Edgar (Donna) Bennett of Peoria; two sisters, Mrs. Roberts (Vera) Campbell of Princeville and Mrs. Irene Calmer of Trabuco Canyon, Calif; one brother Donald of Peoria; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was employed as a machine operator at Caterpillar Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1977. He was a charter member of the Gibson city Moose Lodge, and a 25-year member of Radnor Grange.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cumerford-Endsley Memorial Home. The Rev. James M. Sandy will officiate and burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Dunlap. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the memorial home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
