Alta and her son, Howard, were killed instantly when their stalled car was struck by a train at a railroad crossing near Windsor. Alta's older sister, Lottie, a passenger in the car, was also killed. Lottie's 2 yr old daughter, Alta Davis, was the only survivor of the tragic accident.
