Leon Calhoun, 80 of Gainesville, Texas made his Earthly Journey on January 14, 2021. He was born on April 17, 1940 to Howard C. Calhoun and Bertha Mae (Reed) Calhoun in Gainesville, Texas. Leon attended Booker T. Washington school in Gainesville, Texas. He worked at Gainesville State School, National, Peterbilt and Weber Aircraft. Leon loved to fish and bowl and was affiliated with Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Willie Mae Calhoun; sons, Leon Calhoun and wife, Heather of Ft. Worth, Texas, Travis Calhoun and wife, Felisha of Gainesville, Texas; brother, Roosevelt Calhoun and wife, Nadine of Louisville, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He left them all with precious memories and he will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In support of our local, state, and federal government including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, social distancing and the wearing of masks while attending the funeral services and visitation will be observed.
