Lillie Mae Walters Mays, age 81 of Oneida, Tennessee, departed this life on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Scott County, Tennessee with her loving husband, Roscoe Mays, children and close family by her side. Born January 3, 1940 in Mount Pisgah, Wayne County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Addie Esley Walters and Willie Franklin Owens Walters Smith and stepfather Conellon Smith. She was a member of the West Oneida Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Clarence and Frank Walters; her sister Ethel Walters Young; grandchildren: Labreeska Stephens, Deanna Mays and Piper Burton; in-laws Henry and Mary Mays; and many other relatives and friends.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 60 years, Roscoe Mays; 9 children with daughters: Sue and husband Tommy Chambers, Linda Mays, Jan and husband Steve Terry, Joyce and husband Brian Strunk; sons: Kenny Mays and wife Terri, Bobby Mays and wife April, David Mays and wife Christy, Bruce Mays and wife Allison, and Jamie Mays; sisters: Elsie Jones, Esther and husband Paul Duncan; Maudie and husband Dennis Blevins, Delsie and husband Herbert Roysdon; 18 grandchildren: Skylar Chambers and fiancé Kayla Watters, Joseph Stephens, Celia and husband Creston Burton, Katrina and husband Stephen Barclay, Ashley and husband Orrin Davis, Jordan Terry, Brittany Strunk and fiancé Paul Day, Bradley Strunk, Bailee Strunk and fiancé Ben Cross, Jessica and husband Jared Spencer, Wesley Mays and wife Stepheni, Hannah and husband Travis Foster, Sarah, Zachary, Chelsie, Jensen, Kyndal and Connor Mays; 13 great grandchildren: Bentlee and Karmen Chambers, Mason and Emma Davis, Harper and Parker Burton, Laken, Dallas and Hadley Barclay, Paisley, Payden, Kaylee and Aubrey Mays; many other special nieces, nephews, and family in Ohio and Tennessee. She also leaves behind her beloved dog and loyal companion Copper Mays.
