Robert Ray "Bobby" Hudspeth, also known as "Pop" to many, age 71, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, May 26, 2006. Robert died at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory after years of declining health. Robert was born in Yadkinville on Oct. 3, 1934, to the late Edward Lee Hudspeth Sr. and Bessie Nicks Hudspeth. Robert worked at M.G. Crouch Lumber Company for 20 years and later retired from Freedom Homes after many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Randy Dale Pyatte; brother, Jerry Dean Hudspeth; and brother-in-law, Ronald Sprinkle. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Geraldine Roseman Hudspeth; two daughters, Vickie Jean Pyatte and husband, Roger, and Robin Deanne Hall; great-grandchildren, Destiny Grigg, Brittany Grigg, Aubrey Grigg, Dustyn Kanupp and Summer Kanupp; brothers, Bernard Hudspeth and wife, Alice, Edward Lee "Sonny" Hudspeth Jr., and wife, Faye; sisters, Jane Miller and husband, Hubert, and Linda Sprinkle. Robert also was survived by many nieces; great-nieces; and great-nephews. Grandchildren are Wendy P. Grigg and husband, Stephen, Matthew Kanupp and wife, Heather, Chad Kanupp and Nakisha Hall.
