The funeral of John J. Johnson, 73, will be held at home, Wednesday afternoon, in charge is the Reverend Oscar Haugstul of Waterville.

Mr. Johnson died Sunday following a long illness.

He was born in Norway on October 2, 1866 and when 17 years old came to America, directly to Allamakee County.

He was married to Marie Berg on March 7, 1892.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson lived for 2 years in the Dakotas following their marriage, returning to this vicinity where he since farmed.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his widow; four daughters: Mrs. Fred Iesli, Mrs. Armanda Fritz, Mrs. Berger Olsen and Mrs. Paul Gilbertson; and five sons: Marcus, Leonard, Norris, Selmer and Hjalmer; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, all of Lansing; a brother and sister in Norway; and a brother, Johanas of Gatzke, Minnesota.

Burial will be in Faegre Prairie Cemetery.
