She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Clarence Benson; son, Edward Benson and brothers, Mathew and Michael Alerio.
Ms. Benson is survived by her children, Celia Gumaer of Lexington, Frederick Benson (Linda) of Charlotte, Mary Jane Murphy (Harold) of Gilbert and Joanne Roland (Randy) of Leesville; grandchildren, Michael Hightower, Stephanie Olmstead, Will Gumaer, Colleen Cortright, Jeremy Murphy; three great grandchildren and sister, Celia Hawely.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2350 Augusta Hwy., Lexington, SC 29072. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 N. Lake Dr., Lexington, SC 29072.
