A former teacher in Adams County, Thelma C. Hendricks 82, of Panama City, Florida, died at her home there Friday night. She had been in failing health for several years.

She was born in Adams County on April 11 1902 to Joshua and Eva May Brandyberry Burkhead and married Howard Gale Hendricks on her birthday in 1926. He passed away on July 18, 1964. She taught locally at the old Lincoln and Pleasant Mills schools and at Adams Central. She was also a teacher in Florida. She was a member of the Parker United Methodist Church in Panama City.

Surviving are a son Howard Gene Hendricks of Panama City with whom she lived; two sisters. Mrs. Kenneth Nyffeler of route 5 and Violet Johnson of Michigan Center, Michigan; a brother, Joshua Nolan Burkhead of Panama City; seven grandchildren, including Randy Hendricks of 103 Westlawn Dr., and six great-grandchildren. Two sons, Dmitri W. and Jack Dee Hendricks; a sister; and a Half-brother proceeded in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10; 30 a.m. Thursday at Zwick-Boltz and Jahn Funeral Home, with Rev. William K. Rapp officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home is after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
