30-YEAR RESIDENT ARTHUR WINFREY DIES IN CAROLINA
Arthur (Art) Winfrey, 45, 349 S. Woodward Ave, died 3:30 p.m. Friday in Marion, N. C. He had been a resident of DeLand for more than 30 years.
For many years Mr. Winfrey was manager of a local Winn-Dixie supermarket and was reportedly working for an Ocala grocery chain at the time of his death.
He was born Oct. 22, 1918 in West Palm Beach and was a veteran of World War II and member of the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Winfrey; a son, Arthur Winfrey, Jr.; a daughter, Barbara Winfrey, and his mother, Mrs. L. K. Ford, all of DeLand; two borhters, John Winfrey, DeLand, and Howard Winfrey, Jacksonville; three sisters, Mrs. Vivian Stephenson, Orlando: Mrs. Betty Skinner, Jacksonville, and Mrs. Marion Englerth, Houston, and one granchild.
