She is survived by her three loving children, Sallye Anderson (husband Andy) of Atlanta, GA, Donna Vaughan (husband Mark) of Collierville, TN, and Carl F. "Buzz" Hallberg, Jr (wife Patti) of Longwood; eight grandchildren: Tom Anderson (wife Jen) of Portland, OR, Molly Hill (husband Alex) of Franklin, TN, Jonathan Hallberg (wife Bre) of Oviedo, Janey Hallberg of Winter Park, Drew Hallberg (wife Carey) of Oviedo, Anna Vaughan of Los Angeles, CA, Nate Vaughan of Los Angeles, CA, and Rachel Vaughan of Chicago, IL; and five great grandchildren; her sister, Sallye Smith of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Carl F. Hallberg of Orlando and her brother, William F. Wrye, Jr. of Bisbee, AZ.

Margaret was born on October 13, 1921 in Birmingham, AL. She loved radio and music and had her own radio show during high school. She was the first woman to graduate from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in Radio Arts. During this time she was a singer with the Alabama Cavaliers - a dance band that was led by her future husband Carl. They married in December of '42 and she graduated in May of '43. Carl and Margaret moved around the country during World War II while he served as an instructor pilot in the Army Air Corps. They moved to Orlando in 1946 where they were longtime residents of College Park and later members of the Country Club of Orlando. At the time of his death in 1998, her husband Carl was retired from a distinguished twenty-year career as V.P. and General Manager of WDBO AM/FM radio in Orlando. Margaret was active in the Princeton Elementary PTA for many years and was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Orlando, for six decades. She enjoyed tennis and played on the CCO Tennis Team for many years and continued to play tennis and golf into her 70's.

Margaret will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, her extended family, and many friends. Her warm love and quiet dignity will remain as a living legacy for this generation and many to come. Margaret adored Carl and their 55 year marriage was a great gift and inspiration to their family. Her praise and encouragement will remain in the hearts of those she touched for a lifetime.
