Charles Taylor Canfield, 69, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 6, 2006.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Dr. Stan Coffey of The Church at Quail Creek officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mr. Canfield was born March 5, 1937, in Plainview to Birchie Beatrice Canfield and Taylor Clifton Canfield.

Mr. Canfield grew up in Roswell, N.M., and graduated from Roswell High School in 1955. He attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, where he played football for head coach Sammy Baul.

Mr. Canfield married Konetta McClanahan on July 5, 1959. They had four children. Mr. Canfield worked for Owens-Corning Fiberglass as a supervisor before moving to Phoenix, where he was employed by the Arizona State Department of Corrections as the copy service manager. Mr. Canfield retired from the state of Arizona and moved back to Amarillo in December 2005.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Canfield of Bartlesville, Okla., and Brian Canfield and wife Liz of Amarillo; two daughters, Robin Canfield of Amarillo and Summer Canfield of Phoenix; eight adored grandchildren, five granddaughters and three grandsons; two sisters, Sharon Canfield of San Antonio and Dianna McIntosh of Caney, Kan.; two aunts, Mary Garrison of Amarillo and Jimmie Cox of Mesa, Ariz.; 17 nieces and nephews; several cousins; and many friends.
