Death of Mrs. Stewart.
Alice Anna Glascock was born in Ralls Co., near Hannibal, Mo., June 16, 1852. Was married to Silas Stewart Nov. 23, 1871. To this union were born seven children, six girls and one son. Two of these died in infancy, another Miss Ada died Nov. 8,1900 and Mrs. Nettie Conrad died Oct. 20, 1912, leaving two little boys; Harold and Stanley, ages 3 and 5 years. To one of these she gave a home and did a mothers part as best she could.
She leaves to mourn her death a good husband and three children namely, Mrs. Alice Martin, Mrs. Ida Wolf, of this vicinity and Wayne, of Elgin. Eight grandchildren are living, one, little Ada Wolf died Sept, 4, 1910 age 13 years, six great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart came to Shelby Co. shortly after their marriage and settled on a farm south west of Lentner, improving it and making a home from the bare praire enduring many hardships as all old settlers have.
Mrs. Stewart was converted at Union Church at the age of thirty five and has since lived a good Christian life. She has been in poor health for several years, yet never gave up and worked and planned to live and tried to make others happy.
On Monday morning between the hours of 4 and 5 o'clock fale asleep for God had called her home at the age of 48 [sic] years, 1 month, and 10 days
While preparing all this time to live she was surely prepared to die, having made all preparations for her death.
Funeral services were conducted at the family residence Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. R. M. Webdel, of Greenville, Illinois.
