Louie Parrotta, Frankfort, New York. Mr. Louis J. Parrotta, 63, passed away peacefully at his home, in his favorite room overlooking his beloved "summer spot - his pool", on Thursday, May 22, 2008, after a long, courageous battle against the numerous effects of a stroke he suffered in November. Louie was born to Frank and Lena (Principe) Parrotta on April 1, 1945, in Utica, NY. He attended Utica Public Schools and graduated from Thomas R. Proctor High School in 1964. He was joined in marriage to the former Rosalie A. Morosco on April 26, 1969, at St. Agnes Church. They recently celebrated their 39th Wedding Anniversary. Louie worked for Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center for over 40 years, retiring in October 2008. According to his co-workers, there was not a person who loved their job more than him, nor was there a person who did it better. At one point during his career, he also worked for Up John. Louie enjoyed many things, including lying out on his pool. He cherished movie night with his daughter and son-in-law and could be found working out at Planet Fitness three-to-four times per week. At one time, he participated in the Marcy Players group, was active in a local bowling league, and was involved in numerous church-related activities at his parish, St. Mary of Mount Carmel/Blessed Sacrament. Louie is survived by his dear wife, Rosalie, who always stood steadfastly side-by-side with him through their 39-year union; his daughter, Lenamarie Parrotta; his son, Lou Parrotta; and his "little girl" Marlo, who made sure her father's every need was met during his final days at home, and her husband, Anthony "TJ" DiMeo, whom he loved like a son. Louie was blessed with a grandson, Jayden Anthony, in 2006 and cherished each and every moment they spent together. Other survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Mary Parrotta, and his sister, Jeanette Parrotta, all of whom were always there for Louie throughout his life; his in-laws, Thomas and Annette Morosco and Bernard Morosco; and his aunt, Fannie Parrotta. A cherished friend, Jan Radigan, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including everyone at his last place of employment, the Herkimer Outreach Clinic, are also left to mourn his passing. Louie's services have been entrusted to The Matt Funeral Home, longtime family friends. Relatives and friends may call on Friday (today) from 4-7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St. in Utica. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary of Mount Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church on Saturday at 11:30. The Mass will be said by Rev. John Rose who was like a rock to the Parrotta family during the past six months. Louie's family wishes to extend its thanks to the numerous doctors, nurses and care attendants at the various facilities he spent time at during his illness, especially mentioning Dr. Sam Gooldy, Dr. Paul Davidson and nurses Joyce of 3W, Patrice of the ICU at St. Luke's Healthcare, and Carlos of Eden Park. A special thank you also goes to Hospice & Palliative Care which was truly a blessing during Louie's remaining days, particularly nurse Brenda. The family wishes to thank Sr. Maureen Dunn from St. Luke's and Fr. Joseph Salerno for their constant spiritual support, as well as the cafeteria staff, particularly Aaron, who made their time there as close to home-like as possible.
