From The Santa Fe New Mexican:
Sharon Wootten Stafford Cooper, age 79, passed away on December 6, 2020.
Sharon was born March 31, 1941 to Julia Wootten Scott and Robert Stewart Stafford in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She is survived by her siblings Ted, Judi, and Treb as well as her daughter Sharon (Budge), and granddaughter Sophia.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard Carl Cooper and had lived in Santa Fe since 2001. After 30 years as a committed Chicagoan, she also cherished her life in Santa Fe as a devoted member of Holy Faith Episcopal Church. She served as a lector and as a member of the Altar Guild as well as the Library and Mission and Outreach Grant Committees.
Another community that made Santa Fe home to Sharon was St. John's College, where she worked in Admissions. Her colleagues there loved and supported her, and indulged her flair for whimsy and her appetite for the arcane.

Sharon would be displeased if this recitation of her life did not include a love of reading, music, travel, and fast cars. As a young woman, she lived in Paris, surfed, and fronted a folk band playing 12-string guitar and banjo. She sang her way through every day until her very last. She cherished her friends and her faith. Sharon Cooper brought us a special brand of wisdom and magic, and we are changed by it and better for it.
