Charles "Chic" Casterline, 82, passed away, Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Hospice Care of the Visiting Nurse Association, at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Always a gentleman, Charles was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Harveys Lake, son of the late Tillie Wagner and George Casterline.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served during World War II, in Italy, North Africa and Germany.
He was a charter member of the Jonathan R. Davis Fire Company, a charter member of the American Legion Post 967, and a member of the Outlet Free Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jane "Becky" Gosart Casterline; son, George Casterline; daughters, Mary Lou Casterline Yarter, JoAnn Lynn Jones and Cindy Lee Casterline; five grandchildren, Zachariah and Kristen Casterline, Lauren Yarter, Dixie Yarter Mahaffey, and Andy Yarter; three great-grandchildren, Evan, Susan and Natalie Mahaffey; sisters, Lillian Lapp, Kathleen McKenna and Mary London.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family. Arrangements are by the Auer Memorial Home, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg.
In lieu of flowers, photos of our parents, young and old, would be greatly appreciated.
