Mrs. Mary Magdelene Nelson, 74, 408 E. Fairchild, died Thursday, July 7, 1965, at a Topeka nursing home after a short illness.
She was born Jan. 6, 1891, in Topeka, the daughter of Edward David and Josette Juneau Schwartz. She spent all her life in Topeka. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and the Altar Sodality and St. Patrick's Circle at the church.
She was married to Charles O. Nelson in October, 1912, in Topeka.
She welcomed family members and visitors to her home with "I've been so lonesome for you!" She always dropped whatever she was doing to visit.
Besides her husband she was survived by three daughters, Virginia Kistler, Anne Rudolph and Teresa Hertlein; three sons: Charles Jr., David and Edward; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Reade; four brothers: Charles, Oscar, Elmer and John Schwartz; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Assumption Catholic Church and burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
