ACKER, Elsa It is with sadness that I announce that my beautiful, witty, and smart love of my life, Elsa Lee Boring Acker has passed away. After an 18 year battle with dementia it finally overcame her. She passed on January 31, 2021. She is survived by her husband, John Wayne Acker and her son, John Russell Acker. She was born in Edinburg, Texas on November 19, 1941. At age 10 she and her brother, Terrence Allen Boring, and her mother, Lorene Mae Boring moved to Kerrville, Texas where Elsa lived until she left for college. Her father, Willie Boring passed away when she was 10 years old. While at The University of Texas she met her future husband, John, and they married on September 9, 1961. They moved to the Dallas, Texas area and lived in the metroplex until she passed away. Her occupation was professional secretary. She worked for Honeywell most of her years and she retired in 2000. Elsa was a fun person to be around. She has a quick wit and people gravitated to her in social settings. Her natural beauty made her a pleasure to look at. Her intelligence made her a joy to talk to. Her personality made people admire her. Her kindness made her a jewel that shone brightly. She will be deeply missed and it seems cruel that her dementia robbed her of 18 years of retirement. But everywhere she walked she left people feeling better and glad they had met her. She never complained or sulked or acted like she was robbed of anything. She had a toughness that was inspiring and she held tight and strong as long as she was able. Her family and friends will sadly miss her but we look forward to seeing her in heaven. God bless Elsa Acker. The funeral will be held at Rhoton Funeral Home at 1511 S. Interstate 35E, Carrollton, Texas 75006. Visitation for Mrs. Acker will be on February 6, 2021 from 10-12pm. Services will be on February 6, 2021 beginning at 12pm with a reception to follow. Mrs. Acker's committal service will be at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center Cemetery, 400 Freeport Parkway, Coppell, Texas 75019 at 2:30pm
