RUTH E. ANDERSON

Ruth Evelyn Morrett Anderson was born September 11, 1924 on the family farm south of Chariton to Andy J. and Sarah Peco Gartin Morrett. She died February 9, 2021 at West Haven Community Home in Boone, Iowa.

Ruth attended Braden Country School until her parents moved to town during the Depression and began attending Chariton Community School where she graduated in 1941.

On April 5, 1942, Ruth married William Kenneth Anderson and enjoyed 55 years together. They were blessed with four children, Keith, Dean, Janis and Andrea.

In October of 1954, Mom placed her trust in Jesus as her Savior and began her walk of faith and service. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and served in the Chariton Christian Union Church in many capacities over the years. She loved telling boys and girls about Jesus and sharing her faith.

She loved reading and working on crossword puzzles until the last few months.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Joyce Anderson, Dean and Jan Anderson, Janis and Gary Hansen and Andrea Coco, eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, brother-in-law Dave Rosenberger and many neices and nephews in the Anderson and Morrett families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her oldest son, Keith and oldest grandson, Matthew Anderson as well as her brother, George and his wife, Lois Morrett and sister, Doris Rosenberger.
