Member of Dixie Masonic Lodge 272 and was junior past-master of the lodge. Member of Order of Eastern Star 421 and served as worthy patron 5 times. Held the grand office of the Time and Talent Committee of the Grand Chapter of Texas, Order of Eastern Star at the time of his death. 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner and member of Sharon Temple of Tyler. Veteran of WW-1 and member of First Baptist Church of Troup.

Fitch of Abilene; 3 sisters, Mrs. Lois Black of Huntsville, Mrs. Florence Kelley of San Angelo and Mrs. Oran Edward Pickering of Houston; brother-in-law, Lurlin Moss of Thorndale.
