Betsey M. Lake, widow of Steward Lake of Fly Creek, died November 28th at the county hospital of heart trouble and complications.
Mrs. Lake was born in the town of Hartwick, April 27, 1851, the daughter of Rensselaer Bliss and (Mary (Chase) Bliss* Most of her life was spent around Hartwick where she was known by nearly everyone.
She was married to Steward Lake of Hartwick. She is survived by a son, Irvin Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Fannie Vaughn, and a granddaughter, Miss Myrtle Vaughn, all of Fly Creek. Funeral services were held the following Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Fly Creek Methodist church, the Rev. Wilbur C. Dodge, pastor, officiating. Interment was made at Fly Creek cemetery. Bearers were: Reed Spraker, George Turner, Leonard Jones and Glen Foster. Floral tributes were received from the Fly Creek Grange, and the M.E.
