Succumbs After Illness of 16 Months, Made Home In Escanaba
Mrs. Ida May Gelzer, widow of the late Howard Gelzer, died at her home, 615 Ludington Street, at 1: 20 pm Saturday, following an illness of 16 months. She became seriously ill three months ago.
Mrs. Gelzer lived in Escanaba all her life, with the exception of 10 years spent at Bark River. She was a member of St. Patrick's church, St. Patrick's Guild and the Maccabees, Delta Hive. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Cass.
Survivors include a sister, Miss Isabelle Cass, and four brothers, William, Charles, George and Robert Cass.
The body will lie in state at the Allo Funeral Home Sunday evening. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 am Tuesday at St. Patrick's church. Rev. Fr. Thomas A. Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery.
