Lloyd R Mether, age 89 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday Feb. 9, 2021 at The Alverno Healthcare Facility in Clinton.
Funeral services were held at Noon at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation was held Friday 11:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial was at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery, Clinton.
Lloyd was born on Jan. 4, 1932 in Dunkerton, IA, the son of Louis and Lydia (Lipskoch) Mether. He graduated from Bussey High School in 1950.
He honored his country by serving as a Private First Class in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1954.
He married Mary Karr in LaPorte City, IA, they were later divorced.
He later married Virginia (Rixen) Hagge on April 18, 1975 in Rock Island, IL, she died in 2010.
Lloyd worked as a truck driver for Walnut Dairy, Anderson-Erickson, and AIRCO, before retiring in 1997.
He enjoyed his horses, snowmobiling, and boating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virginia, and two brothers, Lawrence and Venice.
