Marie was a homemaker. She was a member of Dresser Church and enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, long walks, embroidery, crocheting, and playing BINGO. She was fondly known by “ReRe” to everyone, including her grandkids and family, who were her greatest joy in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George L. Buchanan, who passed away in 2001; a daughter, Linda Smith; four brothers; and two sisters.
Marie is survived by her son, Dick Buchanan (Mel) ; her daughter, Kathy Hogue; two sisters; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; special friends, Mary Kay White, Sue and Ernie Blankenship, and Billy and Cathy Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Buddy White will be officiating; burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park.
