Geneva Grace Johnson,83,Clifton,died April 19,1997, at Medicalodge in Clay Center. She was born Jan.24,1914 in Clifton,the daughter of Earl and Grace Peterson Beeson. She spent her early life in the Clifton Commnity. She lived in the Idana community south of Clifton for about 40 years before she returned to Clifton in 1975. She was a member of Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton. On Sept. 6,1933, she married Melvin Johnson. He died March 21, 1944. Survivors include a son,Darwin Johnson,Clifton; a daughter Darlene Sykes,Arlington,Texas; a brother,Dwight Beeson,Clifton;four sisters,Nina Caldwell and Earlene Sterling,both of Clay Center;Lorraine Brunell,Clifton and Winona McKnight,DeQuincy,LA;eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was April 23 at Faith United Church Presbyterian. The Rev Evon McJunkin officiated. Burial was in the Vining Cemetery west of Clifton.
