A native of Georgia, he had lived in the Akron community for over 50 years. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, a U.S. Army World War II veteran, a member of the American Legions and Disabled Veterans.
He is survived by sons, Larry Weems, John B. Veal and Louis Veal, all of Akron; daughter, Jacqueline E. Worthy; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 12 noon Saturday, June 27, at the Antioch Baptist Church, 670 Wooster Ave., Rev. J. Waymon Butts officiating, and where friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service. Entombment Rose Hill Burial Park. Condolences may be sent to 512 Julien Circle, Akron, 44310.
