A resident of Paincourtville, he died at 9:03 p.m. Thursday, 20 September 2007. He was 83, born 8 March 1924, in Donaldsonville.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Tillie Campo George; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell B. George and Liz LeBlanc George, and Kevin G. George and Gwen George; a daughter, Marlene A. George; a brother, Danny P. Noto; a sister, Doris George LeBlanc; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Beloved godfather of Kathy and Dwayne.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carrie A. Broussard; parents, Henry W. George and Enola Sanchez Melancon; a son, Henry D. George Jr.; nephew Kenneth George LeBlanc; and grandnephew Ricky Horrigan.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Also preceded in death by his grandparents: Nick A. Sanchez Sr. and Cecile Alleman Sanchez of Donaldsonville; and Wendell W. George and Blanche C. Horton George, natives of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He was a retired auto body and paint repairman, Barbera Chevrolet in Napoleonville, and a World War II veteran.


Visiting held at Landry's Funeral Home in Napoleonville on Monday, 24 September 2007, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville on Monday, 24 September 2007, at 11 a.m.

Interment in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paincourtville, Louisiana.
