Joan was a long-time teacher in the Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic School systems, enjoying the majority of her career at St. Athanasius School, where she taught 7th and 8th grade science, math, and religion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Straub, Sr, her daughter Kristen Straub Wilson, and parents, James Roscoe and Catherine Lynch Beavin.
She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Straub, Jr. (Jenna), her son-in-law, Brent Wilson (Angela), and her six beloved grandchildren, Wes, Jake, Olivia, Ellee, Molly, and Jane. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Beavin (Sharon), and her sister, Kathleen Thompson (Kenneth), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
There will be a small funeral mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Out of caution for Covid19, the mass will be limited to immediate family and a few close friends. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Burial Calvary Cemetery.
