Layton Allen, 86, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021, at his home. He was born February 10, 1935, in Robeson County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Tommy and Dovie Holmes Allen.

Mr. Allen retired from the Textile Industry and later work several years at Food Lion in Hamlet and Wal-Mart in Laurinburg. He enjoyed playing the piano and singing. He was a member of Springfield Church of God.

He will always be remembered as a man of God, who loved the Lord and loved serving him in all aspects. He will be greatly missed by the members of his church and community.

He was preceded in death by three sisters Addie Wilson, Estelle Hayes, and Josephine Snead, and four brothers William Allen, Fred Allen, Redford Allen, and Johnny Allen.

There will be a public viewing without the family present Tuesday, February 16, 2021, from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
