Dean H. Moss, 65-year-old Declo, Idaho resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996, at the Magic Valley Regional Medical Center, Twin Falls, Idaho.

He was born October 5, 1930, at West Point, Utah, the son of Hazen Burningham and Rozella Higgs Moss. He received his education in Utah, graduating from Davis High School, later attending Weber State College. He resided in West Point, Utah for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and did his active duty at Fort Lewis in Seattle, Washington. He married Marsha Evans on November 24, 1972, at Bountiful, Utah. He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served in the Young Men's Organization, in the Scouting program, as ward clerk, as High Priest counselor, and on the church welfare farm. He worked as an investigator for the Davis County Sheriff's Department and was commander of the SWAT team. He had farmed in West Point, Utah for 40 years. He moved to Murtaugh, Idaho in 1978, where he farmed. After retiring from farming, he was currently working as district manager for Capital American Insurance Company. He moved to Declo, Idaho in 1994, where he has since resided. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating and skiing.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha, Declo, Idaho; four daughters, Mrs. Joe (Karen) Robles and Terrie Fisher, both of Clearfield, Utah; Amy Lyn Kuglar, West Point, Utah; and Mrs. Erik (Candyce Jo) Spencer, Yost, Utah; five sons, D. H. Moss and his wife, Margaret, Boise, Idaho; Bradley Moss and his wife, Winette, Rifle, Colorado; Dale S. Moss, Meridian, Idaho and Ty Hazen Moss, Declo, Idaho and Bill Moss (deceased); a sister, Helen McClurg, East Layton, Utah; a brother, Stanley Moss, Kaysville, Utah; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a baby sister and a son.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 12, 1996, at the Declo, Idaho LDS Stake Center with Bishop Dan Darrington officiating. Graveside rites and interment will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Utah at 4:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Payne Mortuary, 221 West Main in Burley, Idaho from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and at the church from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Monday prior to the funeral.
