Elenore received her elementary education in School District 29 and graduated from Glencoe High school with the class of 1922. She taught rural school near Glencoe for six years and then entered the State Teacher College at St. Cloud from which she graduated with honors. She then taught the 5th and 6th grades for two years in the Rosemount public school.
She married Attorney Elmer J. Ryan of Rosemount on June 21, 1932 at St. George's Catholic Church of Glencoe and the couple resided at Rosemount for one year until Mr. Ryan was appointed city attorney of South St. Paul. When Elmer was elected to Congress, the couple spent time between South St. Paul and Washington, D.C.
She was vice president of the 74th Congressional Club at Washington, D.C. composed of wives of all members of congress elected in 1934.
Her popularity was revealed in the thousands who viewed the remains. It took several trucks to convey the floral offerings and there were hundreds of spiritual bouquets. The cortege to St. Joseph's cemetery at Rosemount from South St. Paul consisted of 335 automobiles, where hundreds of people waited to attend the last rites.
Upon her death, Elenore left a husband, young son, and infant daughter.
