Teacher Stricken In Class, Dies
Miss Gwendolyn M. Leyshon, 54, of 1501 Roemer Blvd, Farrell, teacher in Farrell schools since 1926, suffered a heart attack at 3 p.m. yesterday while teaching third her third grade classroom at J.A. Farrell School. She was dead on arrival at Sharon General Hospital.
Farrell firemen were called to the school and attempted to revive her by administering oxygen. But the attempt failed. She was then rushed to the hospital by Watson's Ambulance.
Born in Farrell on Jan 28, 1905, she ws the daughter of Daniel and Gwenllian Michaels Leyshon. A graduate of Farrell High School and Indiana Normal School, she was a member of the First Methodist Churc of Farrell and the Heart Surgery Club.
Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Florence McCartney of Mercer.
